It's a very nice place with an astonishing view. I do not recommend going around noon because you will face neverending queues for EVERYTHING. I left downtown with the shuttle around 12 and got to the top only around 2pm!!! After 1:30 hour waiting to get inside the cable car. I also faced a huge queue to get a place inside the restaurant. It is very annoying.
Well, the food is very nice to make for all this wait and the price is ok. Way lower than european prices for that kind of place. I only rated 3 stars due to the endless waiting.

The view is great, mountains lake and a good starting point for a walk through the patagonian forest

Not what it used to be.
The view is awesome. Sadly, lately, hiking has been discouraged, the trail is not maintained and hard to find. it is, however, easy to get there by car or bus. When you reach the top you have to pay $250 pesos to be granted access inside (around $15 dollars). The facility is good, and the food is great, but very expensive. The cable car is more often closed than open. If you wish to hike, look for other places, such as tronador, Lopez or Fray which are more rewarding and you can camp the night. But this place has a really great view of the city and lake that you should probably not miss.
