A treasure-trove of books - the really good stuff is on display behind the counter.
If you volunteer here, you get a 50% discount on marked prices.
Note: Prices are marked according to the colour of the sticker found inside the book's inner cover: Most common are red ($6) and blue ($10).

I would spend hours at this store! This store is a treasure of books and so needed in a time when bookstores are drying up. The books are discounted. If you do not see something they can order it for you. I have found great books on the rack, always be sure to check there as well.

This shop is a true '"community" hub and not just a retail outlet.Public transport is close and parking, although adventurous is worth the search to visit this bookstore. One of the appealing aspects of the Annerley Community Bookshop is that unlike so many other second hand shops, there is space and ambience that encourages customers to browse and read. There is even a comfy lounge area and plenty of chairs near the shelving.
The scope and range of boooks, magazines, music recordings and movies is reflective of the generous donor base on which the shop relys. As well as online sales, the shop supports reading programmes in the local PA hospital, provides books for the Prison Reading Scheme and supports a childrens programme in Nepal.
The walls of the shop are postered with news of cultural and community events and you will find plenty of information about "What's On" in and around Brisbane. The staff of volunteers are supported by a part time paid manager and all work together to provide a welcome and informative desk area just near the entrance.
The Annerley Community Bookshop deserves to be included among "Treasures of Brisbane" and welcomes donors and customers to visit the shop, join the Myspace Community and support thier volunteers on Facebook!!!
