Returned car and was scammed out on the fuel it was returned with a full tank and got charged for it 15l. Complained to manager who just sent it to avis head office who have refused to listen and just demand money paid - beware!!"

Rented a car out of an impromptus decision. Avis was able to provide a decent car right at that time.

Returned the car with a full tank (last refuel before 27km, where I topped it up to the absolute max, not the first click). Everything went well until they charged me more than it did on the invoice. After calling the hotline they sent me the new invoice which included refueling charges for 7.5l which equals and average consumption in these 27km of roughly 30l/km which is more than 3 times the average consumption.
On the hotline they told me to ask for a branch adjustment which can be online done at the return station. Unfortunately they never picked up the phone and transferred me directly to the hotline which couldn't help me. Emails haven't been answered. Even though it was a nice car and the pickup was good, this was the last time with AVIS for me!
