I would not stay here. I stayed in room 35, the staff that we talked to was fairly nice to begin with.
The first thing I saw as I walked in the room, was a cockroach running across the bed, and then 1min later a smaller one runs across. I was very annoyed, we went to let the staff know, all they gave was a can of fly spray and said "Unfortunatly, this is all we can do at the moment" with quite an annoyed expression. During our stay we came across 5-10 more cockroaches in that room. On the bed, sink, shower, fridge. I wanted to get a refund for the room because that was absolutely disgusting. When I talked to the owner, he said we planted them! I really don't have time of day to do that type of thing. I did not get a refund. And considering there has been other reports of cockroches in rooms nearby, I would have taken this into consideration. But it's fine, these are German Cockroaches, and they create an infestation...
Also, decor needs a good update. Looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80s. I've been to hotel buildings older than this one and they've had a moden makeover.
If I could rate less than one 1 star, I would have.

Great place to stay for business..value for money with rooms..rooms are clean and staff are friendly.

Close to Brisbane show ground, good value for money accommodation and was wheel chair friendly. Staff were very helpful and I will stay there again. Does not have a bar, has a kitchen for guests and common room. Older style building with character

Not bad for the price. My booking included some stranger knocking on my door at 3am. Why would you do that? Peep hole would be handy.

I have been here for two days now and will be here another five days. So far I have enjoyed the stay immensely. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and all the other guests I have run in to have been great as well. The Hotel has a nice family feel about it. Everything is comfortable and functional and I am certainly finding it to be great value.
The Hotel is in an an excellent spot in terms of access to the Valley and the City.
Unless something spectacularly strange happens over the next five days I can only see myself continuing to be happy that I chose to stay here.
