A nice place to take kids too - very interesting displays and variety of exhibitions. We particularly enjoyed space pictures and dinosaur exhibits. A bit pricey though and you need to buy separate tickets for different exhibitions, rather than a single ticket and then go and see what you want. Has a number of free displays. Very busy on weekends and school holidays too.

Great place to take the family, kids love it. You can pay to go to the science center which was $45 for a family of four. My kids loved it. Very hands on and educational. Great amenities. Cafes were reasonably priced and had a decent selection.

Great place to bring kids and learn a lot. Always the best exhibits. Great child facilities. cafe is reasonably priced. Great dinosaur area in the shade to release their energy. A great day out all round. Catch public transport for ease

Lack of information on displays. Little to no interaction for kids and adults alike.
Even the exhibits that show our native animals lacked.. missing a lot of notorious creatures. Especially in the reptile and amphibian sections.
What happened to the displays of the Tasmanian tiger or pretty much 50% of the dinosaur information?
I was just disappointed, "a dumbed down version of its former self"

Visited the Gladiators exhibition, which was excellent, during the week.
Good facilities and pleasant, helpful staff.
Booked tickets (timed entry to Gladiators exhibition) online which worked well. (Tickets have to be printed by yourself prior to visit).
Interesting and well stocked gift shops - a main museum one and one specifically for the Gladiators exhibition. Managed to pick up some unusual presents for people.
Parking available under the building; good value at $16 all day. We arrived at around 10am and the car park seemed quite full. Later, at lunchtime, we noticed a car park full sign. Suggest getting to car park early if you want to be sure of a place; especially if you have 'mobility issues'.
