Despite the upgrade and arguably world-class public playground items of quality construction, the absence of shade is noticable. Lots of litter and broken glass unfortunately lower the experience, however as a public space, I would hasten to add that Shang Street Park is probably one of THE most used spaces in Cairns. A visit immediately after a regular Council maintenance run would no doubt score 4 stars, and some playground shade 5.
