Last year Simon Thomson performed my breast reduction surgery. I chose Dr Thomson after researching his extensive experience and reputation in reconstructive plastic surgery both in Australia and internationally. At my preoperative consultations he provided me with clear and accurate information about the pros and cons of the proposed surgery, encouraging me to take time to consider whether to proceed with the surgery. His description of what to expect during the healing process left me with no surprises and now 9 months later I couldn't be happier with the result.

I required an operation on a tendon with Mr Thomson. I have only good things to say of the staff and surgical management within the clinic . My operation was organised quickly, without incident and with good results.

After my consultation we agreed upon several alterations to my nose to reduce the width of the upper nose which was very broad and to reduce the prominent bridge. However, Dr Thomson did not alter the width of my nose as per our agreement - essentially he did half a job. This is very disappointing as not only was the bridge barely reduced, but my main concern, the width of the upper nose, that we had clearly discussed and he had illustrated on photographs of my face, was not addressed in the surgery. This was hugely disappointing for someone with a very large and wide nose. There was no explanation as to why - it is my only estimate that he must have forgotten my wishes between the consultation and the actual surgery - despite him documenting it in photographs. While I'm sure that this surgeon would be excellent at the areas he claims to 'specialise' in, if I could go back in time I would see another surgeon, without a doubt. Even the reduction to my bridge was minimal. It was my own fault for not researching as thoroughly as I should have, he clearly performs other types of surgery far more than rhinoplasty - although disappointed that he took my money and performed half of what I asked.
