The high ratings that we initially found online were totally the opposite to the experience we had upon our arrival at the Astor. We already had a booking for a room and we wanted to make sure the room was as nice as shown in the photos but to our surprise the receptionist lady said that she will cancel our booking if we want to take a look at the room before moving into it. I protested and I said I just want to take a look to see whether it is as nice as photos and she said no this way I have to cancel your booking and then I told her that her behaviour was very improper and threatening and I don't want to continue with the booking anymore. Now my wife and I are at Ibis which I highly recommend. For a bit of extra money you will get a much better service and you'll be in a much better ambience with real breakfast included.

I had a fantastic stay , the host is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clear and tidy. The bed is so so comfy and the room has a lovely warm and cozy atmosphere. I loved my stay and will not hesitate to stay again. Loved loved loved it . Definitely 5 out of 5 . Thank you 👍😀👏👌

Very clean, very comfortable and very affordable. Most hotels say they are within walking distance of all the good stuff but in reality they're miles away. The Astor really is a short walk to all the action. Achievable even for someone with a dodgy hip and wonky knee. It is so perfectly private yet bang in the middle of the city. A great place to use as a base. I've stayed a few times now and have had a fantastic stay each time. Not for those preferring the glitz and glamour and razzmatazz. This a a little more sedate, soothing and relaxed. Brilliant spot.
