Soho was a pleasant surprise, good value lunch meals that were tasty and pretty well cooking. One of the few places that has actually managed to cook a rare steak to rare. The staff were very friendly and efficient, the dining room was comfortable, the menu had enough tasty items to give you a decent choice and the lunch time prices were very reasonable. As far as a counter meal goes, it's a recomend from me. Some of the meals had multiple sizing options as well so the entire family can order the right amount for them.
Follow up review : we went back a few days later but at dinner time, the same meals but very different results, overcooked steaks, Rare cooked med well, pork ribs with a runny and watery sauce rather than the thick rich glaze we had experienced at lunch. The saving grace was the DJ that was setting up got our 2.5 year old up behind his mixing table and put the headphones on her, she felt like a rock star for a few mins and made the very average dinner service irrelevant. He saved the evening. Thank you again if you ever happen soon this review.

The staff were very friendly. Food was well priced and the smaller lunch menu was available which was good because I was not overly hungry but needed to eat. Food came in around 15 minutes enough time for a small beer. Steak was cooked to my liking and chips and coleslaw were delicious. After paying, the bar man asked if I liked the White Rabbit Dark Ale that they have on tap. After finding out that I loved it, he proceeded to give me a taste of the Little Creatures Rogers' beer which also was good (but not as good as the dark ale). Great old place with a modern look. So if your looking for a great pub meal try Hotel Soho.
