The European is cramped for the number of tables they squeeze in, but the food from the limited menu selection is great quality, tasty and presented very well. I found the wine list a little pricey, although there are some terrific bottles available. The staff are competent and friendly. Breakfast on the footpath out the front overlooking the Victorian Parliament House is also a pleasant experience.
Overall, a cosy European-style Melbourne dining experience!

Superb food, staff are ptofessionals who know their food, wines and have a sense of humour as well. Old traditional place, with a very distinct atmosphere. footpath seating outside option.

Excellent food and service in a beautiful little Cafe opposite parliament. Slightly pricey, there are definitely places with better value for money in Melbourne but it's nice to go to occasionally.

Delicious food, highly enjoyable experience. The Chateaubriand could have done with a bit more of a jus, but on the whole the meal was excellent. Make sure you order the caramel dessert!
