Awesome local place with friendly service, nice meals & an authentic 'Aussie pub' feel.. The lamb schnitzel & porterhouse steak meals we ordered today were tasty & filling. We couldn't even finish our meals as the portions were so generous.
There are real locals here, generally the hard yakka type, who come here for a drink after work, but they don't bother us.. in fact, they add more authenticity to the place.
Anybody waiting for this pub to change, should change their choice of pubs. There aren't many pubs like this left in Seddon, Yarraville or Footscray, as local places are being bought by investors & turned into gastro pubs & cafes, with more effort being put into the decor than the meals. They serve their tiny portions of food on huge plates and charge like wounded bulls.. not Mona Castle.. that's for sure !!

Can't wait for the day that this place starts serving local craft beers, good food and stops being a Bogan magnet.
