After just competing my first year at Art and Design I can definitely recommend. While I can agree the campus can feel isolated from the main campus in Kensington, A&D is full of very interesting people and great opportunities.
Subjects wise your first year will give you a taste for what's to come and for the most part are very practical. I will warn some classes will get you doing some VERY arty stuff which may not be everyone's cup of tea. But overall I've enjoyed my time so far

If you want to study Graphic Design do not go here. Go to either one of the colleges or UTS. They do not get you job ready. I was left scratching my head as to what I actually paid for , the teachers for the design course are more artists then designers and have no knowledge typography or the programs they just say go to lynda.

I learned a lot coming to UNSW Art and Design. The teachers were really friendly to me. I am a pretty quite person and I don't like socialising much. So I did not get along with many of the students here because I was really shy to talk. But I am who I am because of this UNSW Art and Design.

Still have mixed feelings coming here. It's quite a secluded university lifestyle being apart from main Campus. Great hipster environment by being close to Oxford St.
