Busy Sunday at Birkenhead, lots of people waiting patiently for coffee. A guy comes up and obviously know one of the girls working there, orders multiple coffees, barista makes 4 coffees ahead of everyone who had waited at least 10 minutes without a word. Lost my business plus everyone else in the queue. Just plain rude and unacceptable behaviour for a cafe.

Visited this cafe for Sunday brunch - service is absolutely fantastic here - We were a group of 8 that turned up whereupon the only table that could fit our group was half in direct sun. Being a 35 degree day, we asked the staff if the table could be moved farther into the shade. Not only were they happy to do so for us, but when a large table became available later completely undercover, they were fine for us to move tables. "Tarun" in particular should be commended on his customer service. It is "order at the counter" here (so no need to worry about splitting bills) and a nice new kids area as well. The food was delicious and came out promptly. Table water is available (self service) infused with orange, mint and strawberries. Wish they wouldn't put it in those trendy upside down jars though, the spout emits a strong trickle at most even when fully open. Would definitely visit again.

My sister and I held our bridal shower at Cafe Birkenhead and we were so impressed with the level of service not only on the day but from the very moment we contacted the venue. Everything ran so smooth on the day and the staff accommodated for everyone's needs. The food was amazing! Highly recommended for any event!

Went there with a big group of friends for a baby shower. Slow and rude staff; the guy who brought coffee stood at our table repeating latte again and again. When one of us said that they ordered a soy latte.. he said "yeah that's what this is..I just didn't say the whole name". Then the same waiter brought two orders of the same fruit juice that were two completely colours and told us that it was just because one was sitting around for a while. I can't fault the food when it came out so decided to give the place another go; tried to order breakfast at 1125 not realizing that breakfast finishes at 1130. And while I understand that it may have been too close to 1130... but the very same waiter said "I don't make the rules" and walked off. The food is really good! But the terrible service of that one waiter has ruined this place for me and all our friends. We will not be bringing our business back.

This place is good, I have been there few times. Unfortunately the last time I visited the food was not up to the standard. They were kind enough want to change my plate but I had been waiting way to long to receive it. I could not be bothered to wait for it. The view and the ambiance is fantastic.
