My wife and my favourite tapas place. Absolutely delicious food at a great price, and owners are so friendly. The chorizo is to die for.

My family and I have been here 3 times so far and we are going back next week! I lived in Spain for over 10 years during the 1980's / 1990's and the flavours have taken me back to that time. Staff are very friendly and the owner came out several times to have a quick chat. For authenticity this is the best Spanish Tapas restaurant we have been to in Australia (and we have been to others in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane). Well worth a visit!

When visiting Sydney from South Australia we chose La Sangria Tapas Restaurant for an amazing food experience. Following the recommendation we tried their platter which gave us a great variety of sensational tastes and still allowed room for some other dishes and finishing off (or overindulging) in delightful dessert.
We came early, and were so glad we did. It was amazing to see how popular this venue was as the evening progressed. Olivia, Killian and their staff were welcoming and very supportive to those of us who are not familiar with eating Tapas.
A restaurant that I would highly recommend to food lovers and food adventurers. Every mouthful of food was unique and distinctive from the one before and of course the Sangria went perfectly with the feast.
Well done Liv and Killian on continuing on with a family business.

I am not a fan of tapas places generally as they have a reputation for being expensive and poor quality but I'm glad to say this was actually quite nice (and given the really poor reviews below I was a little wary of going). I went there with a group last night. It's always great going with a few people to a restaurant because you get to sample a bunch of dishes. We didn't try the sangria (seemed a little expensive and it was a cold and rainy night), but we had some really nice cab merlot that went with everything.
Our group liked the chicken and seafood paella, the mushrooms, the meatballs and the chicken croquettes but everyone - even the skeptical friend - loved the sardines. Service was quick, the owner was lovely. If I was in Balmain again and in the mood for tapas I'd probably go back. The only downside was it was really loud, but you can't really help that in some places. I would probably go again with a group if I had a choice so I can get to sample a few dishes again. Summary: get the sardines!
