low price for a nice place to stay. the comfort is ok, but only if you do not look for pathetical clean place to be. there is hot shower and very satisfying breakfast. the hostelstuff is lovely and about 24h a day helpfully and never denying any advice. the place is located close to the historic center in a small part of the town named santo cristo. we felt all day and night safe. the hostel is on the top of a little hill and provides a good view on the the western city. the copacabana is by bus 30minutes reachable, the corcovado 15, and the sugarloaf 20. Lapa a popular district to go out, is just about 15minutes away (taxi 15Reais).
i can truly recommend this hostel for people, who like to be in touch with locals.

Poor environment, this area unsafe. Hostelworld offer price than expensive, virtually no guests.
