This place will rip you off and do nothing more. I am about to contact my lawyer (literally as soon as I'm done writing this) because they are claiming that they have been trying to contact me for over a year about an old cancelled contract, and they absolutely have not. If they have, they've been trying to do so on a phone number and email address that I told them were inactive back when I cancelled my account YEARS AGO. I've been going on with my life assuming this contract was cancelled back in 2014 when I spoke with the manager directly and sent a letter in writing when he was being a dick about it. I then spoke to the Assistant Manager in person last fall. I have now requested this contract to be cancelled in person and by mail several times. Now, another several months later, all of a sudden I have a collections threat? NOPE. They'll be hearing from me and my lawyer. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THESE PEOPLE. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND WORK OUT AT HOME. Or at any other gym, really. I have had a great relationship with LA Fitness during my time in the US and now that I am back in Canada their Canadian locations are awesome too and well worth the extra monthly cost because I can walk away hassle free when I no longer want to go to those gyms. (Fun fact -
this ridiculous roundabout--way-of-avoiding-cancelling-accounts thing that they are doing is actually illegal and considered Fraud in the USA, so you better believe I'll be contacting some government officials about this too). As for my case with World Gym here, I opened a Better Business Bureau complaint earlier this year, which was closed because I was out of town at the time when I filed it and was unable to upload a copy of the original contract to support my case. I will be reopening the case as soon as I track down my printed copy of the contract from 2014 - which is absolutely ridiculous that I should have to dig up, but here I am bending over backwards because the people who work at this place have no conscience and will go to ridiculous lengths to rip you off.

We cancelled our membership, giving 30 days notice and they still charge us a 6 month maintenance fee!!! because and I quote "unfortunately September is the month your cancellation of membership is finished and that's when our maintenance fee comes out". So now I am paying a 6 month maintenance fee for something I no longer have. Buyer beware!!!!!! There are many other gym's in Barrie that I am sure won't rip you off!!!!

Owner needs to get off the roids. He tries to come off as intimidating. Not professional at all. He's a meat head. Made me pay 10$ for a day pass when I already have a VIP membership(allows me to use any world gym). After reading reviews I assume his names Matt. He dosnt care about the members at his gym. He only cares about the money. Owner could have allowed me to use his facility and potentially write a good review. But instead he wanted his 10$ and a bad review.

Staff are rude. Managerment even more so. People have treated me like sucm and white trash just cause I believe 24/7 actually means that. They are open 24/6+ 18 hours. The double dip money all the time. 20 bucks a month has been 60 a few times. Ad its oh we got it mixed up with another account. Your better off just walking to another gym vs spending money here.

Shady gym, they're only looking to make an extra buck & they don't care about the clients sadly & are only out for themselves :( the manager Matt is actually the owner, don't try to talk to him for anything he'll mock you & try to manipulate anything you say... That's the kind of customer care/ service you give!? Absolutely disgusting...
