Had the pleasure of welcoming staff and wonderful food. We usually stop by on Saturday for Sangria but popped in on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised by the laid back atmosphere and quick food delivery. Everything was made to perfection and our server even offered a side container of my favourite jalapeno relish as a dressing for my salad. 💜 Absolutely adore this place and will definitely return on a Sunday. Side note: our server recognized us from our weekend trips and offered free desert compliments of himself for being loyal customers. Seriously have so much love for this spot.

Great food and atmosphere, though service can sometimes be a bit slow.

I used to love the Red Texas Chili, but this time it was a huge disappointment. They inexplicably have switched the Chuck roast meat for sirloin. The stringy chuck meat used to be full of flavour and very tender. The sirloin was tasteless and very very chewy. We have been eating at various Mexicali Rosa restaurants for more than 30 years starting with the original diner in Sandy Hill in Ottawa.
Based on our last experience at Mexis in Halifax that might have been our last visit.

Very relaxing and casual atmosphere. Their cocktail and nachos are good too! The down side is that it took us 10 mins to be sat because there's only two waiters serving customer and they are too busy to notice us.

Went there on a hot summer evening. Patio was full with an hour wait. Inside was empty. They would not let us eat inside while waiting for the patio and instead had a group of 15+ people waiting in the lobby outside the restaurant. The food was regularly priced but the quality was pretty much on par with frozen entrees, and the portions were very small. The drinks were also quite expensive. Overall, I see no reason to go to Mexi's instead of anywhere else in Halifax as it does not have any appeal.
