This is my favourite book store! They have a great selection and a wide variety of other products as well. Their cafe on the second floor is a nice place to sit and relax with a book!

Was on lunch break and came in to buy a book and read a bit. After having a long day, I accidentally dosed off book in hand in a sitting area. Oopsies. Instead of politely asking me to to wake up, a woman who's name I didnt get with short purple hair rudely and loudly came over to scold me publically. I work in costumer service and know that isn't okay. It wasn't on purpose, and I would understand and respect someone coming over to wake me especially if they were kind. Accidents do happen. Even after I instincticely apologized, looked embarrassed, & woke up immediately she maintained a rude tone while walking away.

Great place for books, relaxing atmosphere, helpful staff. There is an integrated coffee shop for those who want to starr reading that purchased book right away. One of the special things about that place is that, from time to time, someone would randomly come up to the piano and play a little melody. I can easily spend hours in that store!

Just posted this on Indigo's site as well: I really do love ❤ the Indigo store downtown Montreal because of the quiet and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are amazing (always smiley and super helpful). I love buying smart business/history/philosophy books/magazines because i’m a voracious reader and usually hang around my favourite part of store “the coffee shop” when I need some “me” time after work, between meetings or on weekends to read and enjoy a coffee with a salad while listening to someone playing piano. It’s really an experience.
I also regularly buy books/magazines for contests I do on my social media page to supporters of my children’s rights work and give them out :)
The only suggestion I believe would be to add some comfortable chairs/sofas with table next to them - around the coffee shop. That would be an amazing experience for people like me! Sitting on a stool/hard chair is not always a fun/comfortable when your there for 2+ hours readings with coffee etc. I know you must make a turnaround for customers but i’m sure there’s a solution to this :)

Great selection of products and nice ambiance. A big plus is when a customer starts to play the piano and it creates a magical atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed and makes you forget you are downtown! The accessories and home decoe section offers a variety of nice items as well as the extensive stationary section. The water jug close to the cash is also a nice touch, a customer watering hole/oasis of sorts for when you need a drink of water! Very nice overall!
