Excellent Insurance company. Have been insured for 10 years, rates are more than reasonable and advisors are very helpful.

Every time I call I wait on hold for over 30 minutes. Sometimes it takes 60 minutes for them to answer all the while, a recorded message says that they are experiencing higher call volume than anticipated. If this happens every day, maybe they need to adjust their anticipations and hire a sufficient amount of staff.

Terrible company. Always implying they offer great customer service yet they lack in every possible way. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere for your insurance needs. Anywhere.

Great insurance company. My Macbook got a very bad water damage because of hard rain. I gave it to Apple Store for a repair. They gave me a very high price. I called TD home insurance and they told me it was covered. I made a claim and received the amount in a very short time. Thanks TD insurance for covering such an unfortunate accidental damage.

Totally disappointed. I have had our auto insurance with TD Meloche Monnex (previously Monnex) for over 20 years, through a university alumni program. Over that time, both my wife and I have maintained near perfect driving records with no major claims. Recently, when I called to renew our auto policy I received a hard sell treatment from the representative on the phone. She was trying to sell me on a combined home and auto insurance package. I decided that I'd be willing to receive a quote for a combined packaged deal. A few days later she called me back to give me a verbal quote...of course nothing in writing...as I found out. To get this, I had to spend quite a long time on the phone answering a series of rather repetitive questions. It was an annoying process to say the least. At the end of this exercise, the quote given was completely insufficient. The home insurance coverage was considerably less than what we already had with another insurer and the price no better.
From this, I went back and talked to our existing home insurer (Cooperators) and asked them to quote on our auto as well. Maintaining our existing home coverage they bettered the current auto coverage offered by TD Melouche Monnex and the entire package actually brought our combined cost down by nearly $700 annually. Based on this, I contacted TD Melouche Monnex to cancel our existing auto insurance. Of course they didn't just apologize and willingly process my request. They sent me not once, but twice, to their customer retention department to try and talk me out of cancelling, but provided no better offer.
When they realized that I was determined to leave, I was told that they would be charging me a $300 policy cancellation fee. Even though I had given them 22 years of business that would likely have exceeded $50,000 in total premium payments. When I explained that I would have considered staying if they would have been better on the price and more comprehensive on the coverage, they still held on the cancellation fee.
A key issue for us was that they couldn't provide flood insurance in the home coverage, even if we paid extra. This was something that we felt was important after recent events across the country this spring. Our current insurer already had this in our plan. Nevertheless, a cancellation fee was applied.
So, just very disappointed.
