Really nice studio, excellent teachers. They have done a great job creating an intimate space in a smaller location.

I’ve taken two classes and so far I quite enjoy my experience there. The atmosphere is a bit different from another studio I used to go to but the instructors are great and super friendly. It does seem to cater to a younger crowd and they’re pretty chatty which I find a little disruptive (at the beginning of class).

I'm writing this as an intervention of sorts. I've been attending the studio for over a year now and I've noticed some changes I want to highlight; I'm hoping management can utilize this feedback to improve their offering and the experiences of other yogis. However, I also want to give a balanced review.

So, first, the good:
This place has a lot of great ingredients that I look for in a studio.
a. Great location, super convenient.
b. Good, fair prices.
c. Nicely renovated studio - zen, clean atmosphere (love the plants)!
d. Some yoga instructors are great:
Mackenzie - Fantastic class, challenging but well paced, excellent adjustment suggestions, "holistic yoga feel", not just "exercise yoga".
Emma - Good music choices, good adjustment suggestions, well planned classes that can be challenging if you choose.
BrianaLucila - Tons of experience teaching, and it shows. Catch a class of hers if you can!
Monika - Very positive and warm teacher.
Britt Amell - Positive knowledgeable teacher, breath focused class.
Yoko - Positive attitude, can challenge yourself if you choose.
Others: Crystale has good energy and balanced class; Alissa offered a unique class, with a good level of challenge and suggestions - please give her more classes!; I've heard Lizl is great, but haven't had the pleasure yet.

Now, onto areas for improvement:
1. Sardine can environment, especially during the evenings
a. I don't think it's just me, but I find it very difficult to get my "yin" or "yang" on when so many people are squished into the class and I can barely see the teacher or hear their instructions, and other people's appendices routinely touch me and my mat. Also, it's just uncomfortable getting into a posture when you are two inches from someone else's butt, etc.
b.This is problematic because these classes particularly become "exercise yoga" classes, where everyone is frantically attempting to follow along, but many become lost; the result is a highly disorganized class that is difficult to follow.
c. Further, teachers can't move through the class and help make proper adjustments, so this exacerbates yogis incorrectly doing postures, which others then follow (as you cannot see the teacher, so don't really know what to do); this takes away from the overall experience and quality of the class.
Recommendation: Either limit class sizes, to improve the experiences of yogis attending, or get another classroom! It looks like the downstairs store opening is available - maybe useful for expansion purposes? Your studio is very popular, but because you haven't continued with the recipe that made you popular, you're losing clientele and impinging on your own future growth potential.

2. There are certain teachers that have increased their class offerings, however, these may not be the "brand ambassadors" you seek.
a. Kelly - She has a lot of experience and a passion for yoga, that is obvious. However, she also runs a tyrannical classroom that offers the worst kind of "exercise yoga", creating a hyper competitive and hostile environment. She is relentless and actually pushes so much that individuals end up doing ridiculous and dangerous postures in the attempt to keep up with Kelly. If you look around the classroom during a class, you'll see an amazing jumble of confusion; Kelly just soldiers on, without checking in to her class and seeing how the actual individuals are faring, and ensuring they are continuing and progressing safely. Kelly likes to show off what moves she can do - while this is helpful to understand the posture, moving around during the class and providing realistic adjustments would be better. In the end, it seems more like Kelly is trying to prove something about herself, rather than actually help the other yogis, which is what teaching is about.
b. Robert - Obviously a new kid to the block. He has potential, but same as Kelly, he rushes through the class, and doesn't focus on the clients. Suggestions: increase adjustments, slow down your class, spend some time thinking and planning the class beforehand, check in with yogis.

Good price but way too crowded and loud with people talking in the studio.

Never thought I'd like yoga.
Tried it once, and I am now hooked.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff, made me feel comfortable and welcome.
Highly recommended
