Took a guided tour with the fam. Our guide was awesome, a proud Canadian sharing as much history as he could made his pride contagious. Loved it. We learned a lot on Canadian history

If you ever wondered what a nobleman's estate would have looked like, this is the place to find out. Sprawling 80 acres of beautiful landscape tended by a hardworking British man. The guides are very nice and knowledgeable and the inside is amazing as well, full of portraits of the Governor-Generals, from nobles down to the more recent ones without title. Seeing the ballroom really sparks the imagination further, although the grounds and the building itself do a good enough job of giving you fanciful imaginings.

Thanks Sarah!! What an awesome tour guide! When we arrived there were no people for the scheduled tour, so instead of having dead time Sarah offered to take our young family on a tour. The building was absolutely lovely as were Sarah's experiences and knowledge regarding the building and his current Excellency. Personally after seeing an image of a dog carrying the Queen's purse, to everyone's delight, its completely fine to provide a hand to someone in your own home. Thanks Ottawa! Merci Sarah!

A very interesting place. Beautiful house with a great deal of history The tour guide was excellent, shared a lot of interesting and amusing facts. Changing of the guards was small (only about 6 involved) but still worth seeing. Overall a must see for anyone visiting Ottawa.

Home of Canada's Governor General, Rideau Hall residence and it's grounds are a fabulous place year round.

Spring, Summer & Fall enjoy the expertly manicured gardens and trees surrounding the property.

Winter take a skate on the historic outdoor skating rink.

Be sure to take a free tour of the residence to see some of Ottawa's best interior architecture and design.
