I normally don't review places but I had quite a poor experience here. Overall everyone was friendly, the hair dresser was nice and all and she asked me what I wanted and for inspirational photos. What she didn't tell me at the beginning is that it was going to take 3.5+ hours and it wasn't until she was half way through my foils that she said this. Now I've been getting my hair coloured, highlighted, foiled, etc for 15 years and the longest my hair has ever taken is 2.5 hours so I assumed it wouldn't take more then 2.5 hours as usual. The biggest issue with me staying super long was that 1) my parking expired at a certain time and I needed to move my car and 2) I wanted to get back to my dog ASAP bc when I'd taken him out before the appt he hadn't gone to the washroom.
So I told my hair dresser that I had to move my car by a certain time and she said that should be fine. It ended up that it took almost 3 hours just for my foils and coloring to be done. During this time I kept telling her that I needed to move my car and she said it was almost done but it obviously wasn't. Not only did my hair take 4.5 hours total but I also got a $100 ticket.
This appt with an intermediate stylist ended up costing me more then what I paid in Toronto for a master stylist at a high end place. And to be honest the color job isn't even that good. It was way over toned and I've been spending the past two days using a clarifying shampoo to try and make me look less like Kylie Jenner and more like a normal human being.
Anyways, maybe other stylists are better but this was an overall bad experience.

As a blonde I am constantly going in for touch ups and Diana is by far my favourite. She is super friendly and professional all while getting the job done. Great location, and great atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend.

1st timer at Hair Republic – saw Rachhana today for wash, cut & style and she did a bang-up job. She really listened to what I was asking for and we were entirely on the same wavelength. The salon itself is clean, modern and trendy. Would highly recommend and I'll definitely be back.

Was part of a bridal party that was in this past Saturday. Laura was great, my hair looked fantastic and stayed in place all day. The entire bridal was happy with their look. The snack bar they set up was a really sweet touch.

I'm honestly sad that my experiences with this salon haven't been up to par with my expectations. The first time I went I wanted something simple just some layers and a trim. When I left my hair was much much shorter than I had asked even though I've been trying to grow it out to donate. Many of my friends and family were actually surprised that I had cut it so short but that was definitely not my intention

Although my first experience wasn't to great, I did decide to give the place a second chance. This time I went in giving the stylist pretty much free range to do whatever she pleased but said that I just wanted something really different from my then hair. A complete 180 from my first visit, she barely cut any hair and I was left with a terrible trim and some shorter pieces of hair on the side of my face (not even the back). I was her last customer of the night and it felt like she just wasn't in the mood to do my hair. I paid over $60 for a hair cut I could've received for $15 and then went to a different salon about a week later and was much more satisfied.

I really want to give them another try because everyone seems to have such great things to say and I hate giving up on people especially since the place is so beautiful but I'm just so conflicted.
