Friendly waitress and crowd. Excellent acoustic guitar and singing by Mario. A great end to a holiday. You rock.

Great cheese and wine but service was too long for a not crowded day...

Stopped here for a quick drink, which turned into two! Try the cider which is excellent. Good service too

Bistrot le Pape Georges, in the Quartier Petit Champlain area, is in a cozy, ancient building that's centrally located but easy to miss (but you really shouldn't miss out on this one!). The beef stew was out of this world, the "local plate" was a wood board featuring a well-balanced variety of diverse local cheeses, meats and garnish items. At first we weren't interested in having the stew, but the chef was quite proud of it and insisted we try it. We were stunned at how flavorful it was. A truly French experience with lots of flair!

Pape Georges is a nice little "hole in the wall bar" in the Petit Champlain district, with stone walls and a medieval feeling. Usually they have a 5$ pint-special during happy hour (4 to 7pm) with a small but decent selection of local beers. They also have a cheese board/platter with 5 or so different cheeses that pairs greatly with the beers. The only con is that service is a tad bit slow. Only 2 waitresses (1 behind the counter) and 1 on the floor for a bar with so many tables is kinda hard to manage. Overall I would recommend stopping here during happy hour for a few pints.
