Was there last night for a birthday party.....food was awesome....and service was so so so great. Never waited any longer than 4 minutes for a drink....and it was really busy. Had a great time

Decent for bar food. Deep fried pickles were too oily.. Ordered Buffalo blue cheese wings but the blue cheese was a few clumps and not over the wings. Flat bread was pretty good. The restaurant can use some TLC, the dated tables and chairs make the place look old abd tacky.

I have lived in Thunder Bay for more than a year. Coming from the UK I have been really amazed by the quality of restaurants here (especially with service, considerably better than the UK overall). I have loved all the restaurants I have been to (long list) and we go out every week. One of the reasons my family and parents from Toronto come to visit Thunder Bay is for the its fantastic restaurants. Unfortunately this one did not work for us at all. We do not eat bacon or ham which severely restricted our men options (not their fault). The coffee arrived in a dirty cup, there was single-use butter container left inside. It did not look nice at all with butter floating on top. Later I ordered for a steak but it really smelled very bad (probably old piece) and the poached egg was covered with water. The waitress offered to drain the water using napkins but I did not find that option very hygienic, especially with napkins brought in her hands with no gloves. I did not eat my meal (mainly because of the bad smell - really tried I was hungry but couldn't). Service was OK, waitress said she was sorry I didn't like my meal but did not ask what was wrong and how to make it better (she made me feel as if it was all my fault!). The bill arrived and cost was $35.03. I tried to be a bit cheeky and asked if I could pay in cash just $35 cash (did not have 5 cents and did not want to pay any service - I always pay %15 but not this time unfortunately!). Of course, the waitress asked me to pay in full, which is kind of expected and fine with me as my wife had the change. I do not blame her for any of this except for the unwashed coffee cup as she should have checked it first being washed (it must have been used by someone before me). Overall, we were not impressed with our experience and I wished it was better. This is the only restaurant in Thunder Bay I feel I will not go back to again.

Had brunch here with a group of 10. The staff were helpful and friendly in seating us, and our order was taken quickly and the food arrived mostly at the same time. I ordered french toast and my world was changed - it was the best french toast I've ever had. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals as well - including the massive breakfast poutine we all shared.

By far, one of the best if not the best locally owned restaurant in the city. It is well-known for its generous breakfast fare and a very pleasant waitress who serves it named Tamara. Service is quick, refills of coffee are there before you ask and the food is excellent. Lunch and Dinner are often busy so I would suggest getting there a little early. This place really fills up especially on the weekends. The lunch and dinner menus are the same with plenty to choose from. Their chef Andrew Stone is a wizard in the kitchen and they are most accommodating with special diets. I can't say enough about this restaurant. Children are welcome/highchairs available. Large parties seem to be their speciality. Daytonas never disappoints.
