Hostel was clean and the staff was nice. Everything was very organized and set up well for easy access. Would revisit.

Great hostel, really terrific value. The surrounding area can be a little loud at night but the hostel itself is great. The building is clean, the rooftop terrace has gorgeous views of the city, and the free breakfast each morning is definitely a perk when you are in a new city. Great place to stay when seeing Toronto.

The Planet Traveler is hands down the most comfortable place I've ever stayed in from hostels, to hotels, to Airbnbs. The staff here are knowledgeable about the area, unpretentious, and professional. I LOVE the fact that they have a full kitchen, that being said, be humble in your cooking ventures because there is not a lot of usable counter space or walking room so things get spilled very easily with so many cooks in the kitchen.
The biggest and arguably only draw back is that their room placement doesn't seem very balanced. I am the lone woman in a sea of five other men sharing a single room. Thankfully everyone has been really friendly and left me alone for the most part but it would have been nicer to have any other girls in the room as well. I would have felt safer.
Other than that this is a wonderful hostel and I will 100% be staying at The Planet Traveler again for my next time in Toronto.

Staff was incredibly nice and the dorm I stayed in had it's own bathroom. It seems most if not all the dorms are this way. It's situated well in the city and walking home late at night never felt treacherous. There's free breakfast daily, and two social spots to hang out.
