Both times in Tessuti Venezia I was treated like a valued customer. When I couldn't decide what colours of fabric I should buy to make pillows, I got personalized attention. Instead of wandering around the store myself the staff knew their products and pulled some fabric rolls for me to see. They know about color decor and give the kind of service that mostly has died out.
I went through all the fabric stores on Queen St. W., and was left to wander on my own. And, they don't have the interesting and gorgeous fabrics I found in Tessuti Venezia.

My daughter will get married in May 2010. My dream since she was born was to make her bridal gown, so, I am in the journey to find a very special material to make it. I decided to go to Toronto to look for fabric stores because living in Kingston, Ontario I have only one choice. I went through Queen St., Richmond St. and St Claire Av. There are some stores that carry very nice imported fabrics from France and Italy, but I have to say something… My experience in Tessuti Venezia was so wonderful, first of all because of the fine quality and diversity of fabrics, all Italian. I am definitely convinced that silks made in Italy are the best. This store has enough space to go through the room and be able to appreciate each piece of material. The customer service from the owner, Mr. Dominic Stalteri, is excellent. After I shared with him what I had in mind, he went through the whole place, trying to find exactly what I needed, giving suggestions and showing each piece of fabric with so much care, always with a smile on his face. I highly recommend this store. By the way… he has a lot of Butterick Patterns for $1.00.
