Had an amazing experience at the paint department. Dustin was a very big help and answered all my questions and made very good suggestions as to what to paint with and what rollers to use. Would recommend him to anyone buying paint in the area.

Good sized home depot. The employees are extremely helpful and knowledgeable on products in store.

I came in at about 8Am this morning. (Sept 7,2017) and I had a problem with the Milwaukee tool box, (the hinge snapped off) that I recently bought.

The initial person who helped was not helpful she said to me "this tool box has to be years old because it was scratched on the inside. I later explained I work in the trades some tools are sharp..or have rough edges. She later told me I was wrong. That I couldn't be working in the trades!!!

So I brushed this off and asked about a $500 drill set that I wanted to buy and asked if they had stock! She said "no, LEASIDE has it and it's not far you can go fetch it" that I found completely rude.

So the supervisor comes and looks at my tool box offers to replace it because it's clearly not my fault.

Extreamly bad service on Home Depot..

Very poor customer service. After purchasing two sheets of lattis I asked if I could have them cut into two so that they would fit into my car. However they refused citing a safety policy. I asked to be shown the policy from the manger of the store on the phone, and she said: "We don't have it written anywhere" and then she hung up on me. I then spoke to her in person and she denied hanging up on me and then proceeded to tell me it's an unwritten store policy. I find this very hard to believe. This is the second time I have had issues at this store. Last time it was over being over charged for a advertised water pump. I will not be going back

i tried to return a product that I bought online that was not the quality I was expecting. First the woman at the return desk challenged me, "well what is wrong with it?" - in a tone that suggested that she might not process the return. The return took an unusually long time, so I asked if a can of paint I was returning could be returned simultaneously. (There were five people behind this counter milling around talking, definitely not working)

I had been given the paint because I had experienced a failure on another home project and I was honest about this - I probably should have said I misplaced the bill! Nicole, a Home Depot employee, said, "well I won't take it back." I asked to speak with a manager. The "manager" who looked very young said, "Well we would be giving you money for nothing". Here are all of the things wrong with this scenario: the first woman wasn't trained properly on returns. She kept saying that the computer was crashing, but when someone else processed the return it did not take long (either that or this Home Depot needs a new computer system). Next, a knowledgeable sales rep would have first asked, "Has the Paint been tinted?" And would have opened the can to ensure that it had not been. Next they would have given a credit, keeping the sale within the organization. Buying smaller amounts which is what I wanted to do so that I wouldn't be left with extra paint actually gives Home Depot a better profit margin.

Lastly, of course you would not have been giving me money for nothing as the next person buying paint would have paid for the paint. Eventually they did take the paint back, but with the attitude that they were doing me a big favour. It was also a real pleasure watching Nicole and her buddies giving me the "side-eye".

When I did automatic check out the attendee had to come to my station because I used a Home Depot gift card. He was deep in conversation so I had to wait, then he didn't explain what he was doing and why I was waiting. My conclusion is that it is management at this store that is failing to train their people well. I love Home Depot and go to the Leaside and Gerrard locations and always get courteous service and great advice.
