The staff are amazing! We had our first visit to this clinic and we couldn't be more impressed. Everyone we met were very caring, knowledgeable and welcoming. We can't thank them enough for their great care.

I've read a few negative reviews of Dundas West Vets and wanted to address this. Most are regarding the affordability of care at the clinic. They accuse the clinic of overcharging to pay for their shiny reception area.

First of all, I think these individuals should try calling ahead and inquiring about the cost of appointments prior to their visit. Second, I invite these individuals to read the team bios available on the clinics website. You will find that all doctors on staff graduated either with honours or on the deans list and Dr. Bainsbridge received an American national award of merit.

Simply put, you get what you pay for and personally I would rather pay the extra couple of bucks to receive the care of animal carw specialist who excels in their field.

Then there was the individual that claimed her cats procedure was quoted at $900 at Dundas West and she had the procedure done at another facility for $400.

I find that EXTREMELY concerning.

From my experience of owning a million animals over the years with a variety of different problems, $400 barely covers the anesthetic for an hour, let alone all the other expenses involved in even the most simple procedure.

It is true that Dundas West Vet Clinic has a shiny office, but it isn't because they are gouging the community that they serve. It is because they have an enormous team of people that work diligently everyday to meet the needs of their patients.

We presently have geriatric 6 animals in our family and are in and out of the clinic several times a month. We have dealt with every doctor they have on staff and have yet to leave disappointed.

They make themselves available to whatever questions you may have. I believe they give you the truth of whatever scenario you may be facing. They are phenomenal at following up on all of their cases and maintaining a close relationship with our family and their patients.

Most importantly to me, each team member recognizes when we come in and most know my name and the names of my pets. The technicians can actually remember the condition of my animals from our last appointment without consulting their screens and they will recall our prescriptions while casually chatting in the lobby.

Seriously!?

Anyone who is complaining that their service is too expensive should really tally what they are getting for what they are paying for. If they still feel it is overpriced then they have a lesser relationship with their animals that I just cannot understand.

Friendly staff, great location, and kind and knowledgeable vets and vet techs. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their work and the office. I'm so thrilled we can bring our cat there for his veterinary needs.

Dundas West Animal Hospital is an amazing veterinary clinic. Their staff is very friendly and informative. The vets will present you with options for your pet, but don't push you to get procedures or medicines that aren't necessary, like our previous clinic did.

We recently had to put down our cat, and the team was so supportive and compassionate. They made a terrible experience better, and left us 100% confident we made the right choice. More importantly, our cat always seemed calm and content when visiting. Our other cat is very calm and friendly at the clinic too - at our previous clinic, both cats seemed stressed.

I did a tonne of research when looking for a new vet clinic, and I am so glad we chose Dundas West.

I took my cat in recently and found the visit to be infuriating. The vet gave off a strong impression that billing as many tests as possible was more important that explaining the potential reasons for my cats symptoms. I paid almost $100 and received no advice, other than a list of possible exams I could pay for. I was not told why the testing was necessary or advisable, nor given an explanation of the probability of the different outcomes, not advised what the results of the tests might tell us, or whether the potential issues are even treatable. I inquired specifically about what one of the suggested tests, (that ranged in the $200 mark), would tell us and how if knowing the results would define next steps and I was told simply "I'll get into the details when the results are in". The vagueness and opacity of the answer astounded me. When I bring an animal to a vets office I expect that I am paying for the vet's expertise and education, which I will do gladly. Instead the vet defaulted to quoting test options without bothering to explain the value or provide any insight into potential causes of my cats symptoms and whether the causes are even treatable. I'm not interested in testing for the sake of testing if either way the results could not be treated and I was given the impression this was the vets objective. Overall it was a very negative experience and I left feeling totally ripped off. I understand you have a lovely shiny facility and therefore significant overhead costs but I'd rather deal with a more humble office with professionals that are honest and informative rather than fear mongering in nature.
