I was at the counter at 4 32(4 30 class)and I was told I was not going to be allowed into the class so I asked to have the reservation cancelled they said technically I didn't show up. This studio refused to honor my wife reservation a few months ago as well.i will cancel my class pass permanently
Class pass should deal with professional studios not scammers

My husband, son and I drove an hour to do a class with friends. We arrived half an hour before class and went in to sign up. We were told we couldn't attend because I did not bring ID. My husband had his because he drove but I never thought to bring my purse (didn't think I'd need it). The staff member we were dealing with repeatedly said "It's our policy, if you don't have ID you can't attend a class". We explained we drove an hour to attend and offered suggestions to "prove" who I was. She was not intetested in trying to help or offer assistance. I would have actually felt better if she'd said "I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do" instead of repeating "It's our policy" and nothing else.
I went online and looked to see if there was anything on their website about ID being required and I didn't see it (perhaps I missed it).
I think some staff may need a refresher course in customer service.

YYoga is my favourite yoga studio in the city. Most importantly, the instructors are great (although of course you can find great instructors - I mean, literally the same people - teaching at other studios). What sets YYoga apart is the facilities. They have a greater changing/shower area, with shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryers, so that you don't have to pack all that stuff. It's always spotless and clean. They have pleasant common areas for hanging out, and free herbal tea.
Another thing that sets it apart is convenience: You can always find a class somewhere at a time that works for you. Besides all the studios in Vancouver, I've also visited to their Whistler studio, and plan on visiting their Toronto studio in a couple of weeks.
You have to rent mats (they aren't provided free), but unlike other studios (like Semperviva) the mats actually get washed thoroughly and don't smell like other people's feet.
I'm really surprised that there are such negative reviews of Y, and it seems like maybe people are just unprepared or surprised by some of the classes. So some things to keep in mind about YYoga: the rooms ARE heated, if you don't like it hot, avoid hot yoga and power yoga. But there are lots of other styles to try.
Certain studios seem better for certain classes. For instance, I find the power (and obviously, especially to "power intermediate") classes at Yaletown and Downtown Flow have more advanced students in them. You can take these classes without any prior experience, but keep in mind you will be seeing more advanced students doing poses you haven't learned yet.
If you're really a beginner, maybe try hatha to start, particularly at the 6th Ave location (I took my beginner fiance to a hatha class there - it was very simple and no one was doing any intimidating poses). Talk to the front desk staff BEFORE you book a class if you're worried, they'll be able to tell you about the different classes.
And yes, the Yaletown location is a tiny studio, with two small rooms... but it's Yaletown. You get a sweet location, not a vast expanse of real estate! :)

This place has an amazing staff and they are always happy to help you. However Ive seen when they have to "kick customers out" of the studio because YYoga has a weird schedule and gaps between classes. (And noone inform it to you when you purchase your pass anywhere in the city)
