Tried this place out on a groupon, mistook it for the Chi spa at the Shangri-La Hotel. This was far from that.
A tiny hole in the wall place on Victoria Drive that does not even have the proper signage - S L Salon, Essence Laser are some of the signs posted on this business. "Shangri La Body Care" was a small cardboard sign in the window (not even the lighted sign overhead).
On checking in, we were waved immediately over to the waiting area. We thought we would be given a menu of "treatments" to choose from (as the Groupon mentioned) but, no. The lady at the desk then proceeded to walk up to us and ask what our appointment was for. I explained we had a Groupon deal but she cut me off before I could show her and waved her hands around impatiently, not sure why, as we were 10 minutes early.
Our Groupon included a hot stone massage, choice of facial treatment, and a slimming body wrap, for $75 - apparently discounted from a total value of $375.
I had the massage first. The massage room was tiny - enough room for the bed plus maybe 2 feet around. The bed was covered in a thin sheet. The therapist did not say a word when she entered. Went straight to applying the hot stones to my back over the sheet and a towel. She left the room for maybe 5 minutes after. She came back and had absolutely no sense for a relaxing ambiance - she clomped around with heavy feet and dropped the stone clanging into metal bins. She also had her cellphone on ringer and it rang twice during my massage. Then came the massage itself. First of all, the oil used was Johnson & Johnson's baby oil - which smelled really strong in that tiny space. A TON of oil was applied. After each body part was massaged, the oil was cleaned off with a rough paper towel. The massage itself was just the light pressure "relaxing" massage as I did not want to upgrade the Groupon, and it was okay. The oddest part is that she pulled down my underwear so that the top of my butt was exposed for the massage. The massage probably was less than 30 minutes with the waiting for the stones etc.
When it came to move on to the facial, I was asked to change into a robe and walk down the hall. Slippers were not provided - there were two pairs tucked behind the door and I asked if I could use a pair as I was wearing heavier boots from outside.
The facial and body slimming room was similar in size to the massage room. The "body wrap" was basically a heated full body blanket? It was lined with a plastic sheet that was NOT changed between myself and my sister. They thankfully changed the fabric sheet on top as I entered the room... It was HOT in there and especially on my heels. I kept shifting the sheet to insulate my feet better. The facial itself. Per the Groupon the estheticians would analyze my skin and recommend different treatments based on my skin type. None of that happened. Again the estheticians asked NO questions about my skin, did NOT explain what was happening or even what products she was gonna use. She used maybe 4-5 products on my face all of which had varyingly cloying artificial scents from rose water to coconut. There was ONE towel used for my whole facial- she would rinse it between each step into a bowl. I confirmed this for myself during the facial as she did not dispense of any towels into any sort of receptacle throughout only the constant rinsing. She left the room for 5? 10? minutes after applying a mask leaving me wondering if I would be forgotten while baking and masked. Once I finally was released from the wrap she wiped me and my sweat down (it was that hot...) with the same towel used on my face. And then told to get dressed and leave.
It was a mediocre experience. The price paid for the Groupon is probably MORE than the actual value of the services and I regret the tip that I left. I hope this discourages people from visiting this place whether on a Groupon or not.

You walk in to a small cozy place which is hard to find due to no proper sign. I was greeted by a rude receptionist that had her head in her cell phone not even making eye contact while I was speaking with her. I was taken to the room with a very polite and nice esthetician. It was very hard to understand her during to language barrier. The body massage was nice but too fast until she rubbed the oil off my skin with a rough paper and not even a towel!! The face massage routine was completely wrong. She left me in under a very hot heat pad that it burned my my heels and she got upset when I opened them. To top it all off she was trying to charge me 12% tax when BC's tax is only 5% for services. I left with a migraine and a runny nose I don't know why! I wouldn't recommend the place to be honest.

Me and my husband went for a massage and facial. The girls were great and super friendly. My husband was super happy that his massage was deep tissue and I was happy mine was not. For the price it was so worth it. Will definitely be coming back

Absolutely terrible experience. My friend and I purchased their Groupon for hot stone massage, facial and wrap. We both paid the extra $40 to make the massage 1 hour from 40 mins, and upgraded facial. The massage was shorter than an hour. With your entire bum showing, and the door open. I told her three times to go lighter since it was really hurting me as I have a sensitive back. Her response was "no it's good for you". When my friend was getting her massage. The lady left the room THREE different times to answer the phone. They also made rude comments like saying we need to "workout more" etc. They also put so much heat in the wrap that you feel like passing out and won't take it off when you ask because it's "good for you". One of the most painful, uncomfortable, and upsetting experiences. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!
