Before I get into what I didn't like, I want to set something straight: The person who says they only saw a nurse the whole time is incorrect, as the person on the other side of the video monitor is always a doctor.

So... doctor McTavish is great, but unfortunately I have a very complex condition and so this office is just not the place for me.
It's good enough for someone with a cough or sore throat or other small problem, but for me with serious ongoing condition... it just doesn't work.

First of all, they can't perform any of the regular exam duties aside from listening to your heart, blood pressure, looking in your throat, ears, etc... they can take HD photos and send them to the doc if you have a wound, sore or wart that needs diagnosing, and that way they can diagnose or find a course of action for you.

But Pap smears or prostate exams are impossible. Muscle aches or sprains? Impossible. Neck and back problems? mostly impossible.

They are also unprofessional. The nursing student is frequently texting when you come in. They are always running 30 minutes to an hour behind, and which just makes me wonder why they don't book longer appointments, since mine is never just 20 minutes like they say... every appointment adds to the delay.

They also refuse to do paperwork even if they're being paid to do it. So don't bother going there with ltd papers, drivers license papers, etc...

It is a bit of a different experience than going to a regular doctor's office but the results are the same. A registered nurse is in the room with you and does the preliminary check up and then connects you with a doctor over webcam. I have been here twice and each time I appreciated the kind and professional staff. Both times the appointments were running late but I have never been to a doctor's office that was running on time so it was no big deal.

This place is a little bit confusing. I'll start off by saying I received good enough care here when I required it, but was confused by the set up and possibly too modern approach. You walk into a pharmacy and walk all the way back to find a receptionist sitting at a computer next to the adult diapers. That's check in. Standard procedure follows: name, care card number, why are you here. Then, because it's such an awkward set up, the receptionist went ahead asking me all the questions I should have been filling out privately on a form, and he continued to attempt to diagnose me. So is he a nurse? A doctor? No clue. Some of the questions seemed out of bounds (religious orientation, for example) which the nurse/doctor/receptionist explained was necessary in case of emergency and to ensure I was cared for according to my beliefs. Okay, makes sense, but caught me off guard. Finally I saw the nurse in the room, who connected me with another nurse on a web cam. I didn't see or speak with a doctor the whole visit. They didn't really have the set up to treat patients - no robes/towels to cover up if you need to take off a piece of clothing. The nurse inside the room was on her phone texting with friends while I chatted to the nurse on the web cam. Like I said, confusing.

Maybe it's new age, maybe at the end all that matters was that they helped me....but professional is not a word I would use here.
