The classes and instructors themselves are quite good and challenging but I found that the class times weren't great for my schedule. The facility is decent and clean though the water pressure in the showers is really weak so it takes forever to shower there. My biggest turn off more than anything is the sales pressure and constant emails. I wish they had more flexible plans. It they did, I might have stayed a member. If you like being locked in to a long membership, this is your place.

My mom and my sister love shapes so I thought I'd try it out. NEVER been to a gym in my life so this was the first experience I've had. I got a one year membership with a trainer to help me with my winged scapula and I added hot yoga because I always wanted to try it. When I signed up i had asked DAYNA if later I decided to remove hot yoga from my membership and SHE SAID YES. THAT WAS A FLAT OUT LIE!!! Now I'm stuck with over paying for something I can't use and Shapes REFUSED to REMOVE hot yoga from my membership.

NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN!!!!!

I SUGGEST YOU DON'T EITHER UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING LIED AND SCAMMED OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!

I would say this is the worst Customer Service ive rec'd in my life, but there would have to be some level of Customer Service provided to make such statement. They charged my bank account with a unauthorized payment (without me even signing any documents or being made aware). I noticed this when I went to pay for my groceries and I was declined due to lack of funds. I reach out to the company and they say, well call Head Office on Monday (today was Friday) and they should be able to help. I ask if someone can reach out to me and they say no, I have to call the office Monday. 1st issue, take money that is not yours, 2nd issue bank charges me money as this sent me in overdraft. 3rd issue, having the client run around calling everyone for a refund that should just occur due to company error. Regardless it only gets better from here. I call Monday and they cannot refund my money, they will credit my account (great news for me as I now wont eat for the rest of the week). They also will not refund my bank fee's and instead says I have to call my bank and debate this with them, but Shapes will provide me a letter (which I am suppose to get by end of day Monday). I never got that letter. I call back Tuesday, Nadine answers and advises me that Kelsie the girl that helped me Monday isn't in the rest of the week as she is sick and due to this Nadine is all alone so she may not have time to address my concerns. I advised this was not acceptable (she informed me she didn't know what email to send me). After requesting a MGR several times (her name is Tina) she kept stating they would tell me the same thing. After I continued, she then placed me on hold and came back to state I would get the email by end of day. Well I got my email and you know what it stated, NOTHING about charging me incorrectly which would help me with my bank. Talk about waste of my time. So I go to the bank and advise them of this (5th issue as now again I am running around trying to resolve a issue YOUR COMPANY MADE).
Long story short my bank will not refund the fee's. I sent this document to Shapes Head office to attention of Nadine and I request a quick response as this has been going on for 3 weeks now!!
Nadine, sends me the email stating that "Apparently the letter we sent wasn’t sufficient enough…". I replied back to her stating she was correct, it was not enough for my bank and I asked again to be notified when this was sent to the CORRECT PERSON NOT THE CLIENT! No word back and its end of their business day. I asked what they will do to make this better, they said nothing - we credited your account for the money we took.
WHAT ABOUT MY TIME, MY HASSLE, ME GOING WITHOUT FOOD FOR A WEEK WHEN I PAY THEM 600.00 YEARLY FOR THIS MEMBERSHIP!
not once has ANYONE said "I'm sorry about this" Not once!!
That's disgusting. You hold no responsibility for a complete error on your company's end and to not try and win the guest back?! I didn't realize your company was so large that you could do your guests wrong and then in turn, make them jump through hoops and still have no results.
SHAME on you!
I have NEVER done a online review as I work in the CS field and I respect people for their efforts - however NO EFFORT has been done by Shapes. This has had me doing all the work because you choose to sign me up for a program that I never legally agreed to nor approved.
I want anyone and everyone to be aware of this experience as I suggest you go to Goodlife or SNAP Fitness or ETC as this company has no respect for its guests/clients and therefore do not deserve your hard earned money.

Poor poor service. I have been waiting for my "new" access card or fob key for close to 4 months! I paid in Dec 2016, still waiting.... so many promises and I was told "it will be here Wednesday", "it will be here in 2 weeks", I call head office, they give me promised, I call my branch, they give me promises, no one follows up, no one calls back. The incompetency and customer service is shocking. This is not the only bad service I had. I will NOT recommend this gym just due to their administration. I am seriously considering ending my membership which I believe is another nightmare on its own at Shapes.
