Although Pearl Market is a little bit cheaper than Silk Market I do prefer Silk Market. Pearl Market is a place of chaos, small spaces and badly organized. However I love the food court which is way better than Silk Market.

Great place for souvenirs! Just go in and start super low-ball because they really jack up the prices. Example- trying to sell me a wooden fan for 250 RMB, I offered 15, after a little fussing walked away with it for that price! Which still earned them a profit, and I got a nice simple fan for $2. Win, win. Also know that you'll see the same products at different stalls so you can use that in your haggling routine, tell them the other sales person offered you much less and you'll just go back there... They'll give you your price just to sell it first. The higher the floor, the nicer the merchandise. We stayed lower and walked out feeling very productive.

If you go there, you will be swindled. It is a certain thing. Their starting price is at least 10x higher than what you should pay for an object, so there is almost no way to push that number down at a reasonable price.
Also, anything you buy, double (or triple) check that the object is in working condition (camera, watch, etc.) or that everything that should be included is included (look at the soles of the shoes you buy).
I'm pretty sure everything is a copy (cannot certify this, but why sell us good stuff with an expensive price if you can sell cheap stuff with an expensive price).
Only stupid tourist (like me) would buy there.
