Romantic and luxurious. Softly lit courtyards throughout and a gorgeous rooftop pool (though small, sometimes no lounge chairs available). Highly attentive staff, very helpful English-speaking front desk and concierge, strong AC, beautiful spa. Cars parked out front for travel to airport, Baru, the fort, wherever. Buffet breakfast from celebrity chef included. Location is out of the way, depending on your interests. In a more 'up and coming' neighborhood filled with hostels and university students, making it more fun and lively vs. historical. But still walking distance from most sites in the walled city.

Best boutique Hotel in the World! I've traveled to over 50 cities and stayed in over a 100 5-star hotels. What makes this hotel a 5 star one? The staff, the food, the rooftop pool and the location. The attention to details in the furniture and rooms is beyond magical. Bastion is a piece of art.

It's probably one of the better hotels in the area but coming from NYC standards, I'm sorry but I can't give his a 5 rating. Especially since our room didn't have a window and the gym was subpar.

We were there in August 2016 for 4 nights. Superb staff, great breakfast, very comfortable bed, a/c in the rooms but open air patio design (toward the center so no street noise). First class rooftop pool. Awesome location in the Old City near great restaurants and bars. We particularly liked Mistura (Peruvian) just around the corner. Went there twice.
