We reserved an SUV at this location and used "Air Miles" to purchase the same. The reservation was to include a GPS unit. Upon arrival at the rental agency, we were told that the WIFI service was superior to the GPS units if we had our own device. We had numerous devices but told the agent that we had only reserved a GPS unit. He assured us that the WIFI device was included in our Air Miles rental and that it didn't matter which one we took. I told the agent that I wasn't paying for the device as I had a local cellular plan. He assured me that it was included in our "Air Miles" purchase. I specifically asked the attendant about the charges listed on the bill that he printed and he told me not to worry about them as they will not show up on the final invoice! It now appears that we have been billed for the same. To add insult to injury the "WIFI" system rarely worked as the car recharger plug was defective and the unit would not hold a charge. We could charge it at night with the electricity plug but the charge quickly ran out. We asked the attendant when we returned for a copy of our bill and he wouldn't give us one saying it would be emailed to us. I told him the "WIFI" didn't work and that we used our own devise most of the time. (I didn't want the next person to have the same problem with the defective equipment) He apologized and loaded our items into the shuttle bus. I called National Car Rental customer service and low and behold they don't cover Costa Rica. I now have emails and calls into the local location to try and get the problem solved. I assume they feel the customer will just pay the bill due to the increased hassle! NOT THE CASE! Be very careful at this location!!!!!
