On its website Genena Mall is described as "the leading shopping mall and entertainment pioneer in Egypt." This is quite a far-fetched claim, especially with a mega mall like City Stars a stone's throw away.
The mall was built in the late '90s to serve the area with predominantly independent shops. It was built before City Stars so it was quite popular in its day.
Today Genena Mall consists of a handful of international brands; predominantly affordable independent shops selling local brands; an ice skating rink; cafes and fast food restaurants.
It's certainly not the leading shopping mall in Egypt, as per its claim. Mega malls like City Stars, Cairo Festival City, Mall of Arabia and Mall of Egypt would be better suited for that title.

Awesome mall with an ice ring for the kids to play and an arcade. Great food at the food court. With shops having reasonable prices. A mall worth visiting for your shopping

Very nice mall. Variety of shops. I like Tssepas pastry there. I like the ice skating in the middle of the mall. I once bought a very nice wedding dress from there. Also a lot of cafes and ice cream shops. Metro market is adjacent to it if you need some grocery.

It is a light cozy mall selling good items with good prices. There is a small food court in the upper floor. A good place for buying clothes &shoes.
