The Herb Garden established in Redoubt Kotka, a small restored fortification structure which used to belong to the Ruotsinsalmi fortress, has an atmosphere of times past.
In the Herb Garden, you can become acquainted with about one hundred different herb and spice plants.
Those with visual impairment or restricted mobility have been catered for especially in the design of the garden.
The plants planted in raised beds have also been provided with name tags in braille.
The varying forms, seductive colours and savoury aromas of the herbs please all senses. The herbs also attract butterflies and other insects.
