I wanted to try a variety of cheese and L'instant Fromage did not disappoint. The very friendly server (owner?) made an amazing and ample cheese plate for us that seemed far too cheap for what it was. The simple tartine was somewhat surprising that it could be so delicious. Many of the locals ordered salads that looked just as appetizing as the rest of the food. We went for lunch and it did get quite full after 12:30. They weren't sitting people after 1:30, so plan accordingly.

Extremely rude and impolite waiters, we got even insulted! We know what good restaurants are but this completely destroyed our evening. The food is decent but not excellent, the bread was bad and from the day before, the salad sandy. The wine had cork and got exchanged with complaints. Nice cheese but there are so many way better restaurants and bistros in Lyon with very good service!

I've been here a few days ago and I was in 7th heaven. We had the Découverte where you get a plate with a selection of 5 different cheeses. Needless to say it was top-notch cheese with matching extras like pumpkin seeds or pineapple. The waiters were friendly, quick and witty. We felt comfortable and well taken care of the whole time. Oh, and it's really cosy! A visit to Lyon should include a visit to L'instant fromage!

Just a little place with giant character! Loved the cheeses, wine and especially the service. Let them choose for us and we were amazed with the flavors!

Very friendly service, did not have problems communicating in English. Recommended wine for us based on preference and also chose variety of cheeses because we did not know what to order. Cheese was delicious and wine was great. One of our best experiences in Lyon.
Be sure to come early, it was really full and people were rejected because they did not have any place left.
