Only retuned the car to this location as it was a one-way rental. It was scary at first because there was no one to inspect the car. You just get to the garage, park the car at one of their spots and return the keys and documents at the desk inside the station. Once you leave, then they will inspect the car. However, I have no issues. I am giving four stars because I spent like 20 minutes searching for the parking deck to return the car. It is not identified (at least not in english) and they did not answer the phone. Parking deck is located southwest of the train station.

There are lots of reasons why I think Avis service is awful, here are just a selection:
The queue at Frankfurt airport is absolutely diabolical: I have rented a car for the past 4 weeks and it takes at least 25 minutes each time to queue to pick up the keys for the car. I have no idea why this should be the case - the process doesn't need to take more than 2 minutes per customer.
You have been overcharging me for weeks: when I book the hire car through the BA website, it clearly states that the CDW, TP and Service Charge will all be included in the cost of the rental and yet when I get the invoice I have been charged AGAIN for this and also VAT. This takes the cost of the rental from the EU180 advertised on the BA website to over EU300 in reality. I have registered this issue with BA and Avis and nothing has been done.
You overcharge for repairs. When I returned my car two weeks ago, there was a scratch on the hubcap. The invoice I received stated the cost of repairs at over EU450. For a scratch on the hubcap. After asking for a copy of the repair receipt so I could understand where the cost came from I was sent an email a week later saying that the cost of the repairs was actually EU25 and I had been refunded the difference. Three days later I have still not received the refund - and frankly I'm not confident that if I hadn't queried the claim I would have been told the true cost of the repairs.
Your customer service is completely ineffective:
I lost my wallet at Frankfurt airport this week after using it at the Avis counter. I tried to call through to ask whether anyone had handed it in, but apparently all of the representatives were busy. I spoke to someone from the central hub who told me that he would send an email to the desk team and they would call me within an hour. Of course this didn't happen. Concerned as I was that I might have to cancel all my cards, I continued to call the airport desk throughout the day and each time was assured that they would *urgently* call me back but they are *very* busy at the moment. Since I still hadn't heard from them at the end of the day, I drove back to Frankfurt airport. Imagine my surprise when I arrived at the desk and there was no one whatsoever waiting at the counter, and instead all three Avis staff were sitting there doing nothing. They claimed they had not received any emails from the central team.
Overall, your service is terrible. I would not recommend Avis to anyone, ever.

Avis car rental at Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof scammed me in June 2016. I had everything pre-arranged through an internet booking for a three-week trip rental. Coming in with family from Laos - where I live- arriving in time to pick up the car, the person at the counter tried to sell me extra insurance (which I did not need), then he said we had to add a second driver and added 200 Euros to the account (coded). I did not agree, but after a one-hour standoff he still would not release the car. Afraid to miss my family booking in Austria, and the rest of the three-week trip , I had to sign off in order to get moving. On day two, the car requested an oil refill. After email exchange, Avis agreed to pay for it after the rental period. Have had several email exchanges with Avis after the rental, Avis is very un-accommodating, trying to confuse bills and codes, but definitly not willing to pay me back for the 200 Euro bogus charge or the oil replacement. Personally, I consider this as being extorted where Avis helt my three-week trip as ransom in order to scam 200 Euros from me.
