Sehr interessantes Museum zur Schifffahrtsgeschichte Kiels. Mit der Eintrittskarte können außerdem zwei Museumsschiffe besichtigt werden. Empfehlenswert.

Middle size museum with funny exposition and good caffe in the same building (kitchen is closed qt 14.30 and opens at 18.00, pay attention).

A lovely museum which is well organised into categories. I can remember visiting here 35 years ago and now, in October 2015, the museum is just as interesting. I really like the model dockyard which portrays shipbuilding so well. The only thing missing are , as I recall from the last time I was here, are the shipwright's ( Bootsbauer's) tools. This is more than made up for by viewing the navigational aids.
I loved visiting this place again and highly recommend it.
