Very noisy in the Wohnmobilplatz. Don't understand why the most expensive places (ok, not that expensive) on the camping are the most crappy ones. We saw very nice open spots on this camping, but were directed to a very small space. The beergarden on the corner gave lots of noise.

Decided to head to Wolfsburg to visit the Autostadt and VW museum along with others who are Volkswagen fanatics. Noticing that this site was within a stone's throw of the city we decided to use the site as a base.
Upon arrival the friendly owners seemed startled that Englishmen had arrived but was able to converse with us in English better than I could manage in German. The site immediately stood out as being clean and cared for with a smart looking children's play area and and well kept administration/ facilities block.
Something else which was immediately obvious was the noise- it was so tranquil and peaceful there it was unreal. Slept until 1000h on Saturday morning due to the lack of movement/ noise one would normally get on an English site (even the children present were quiet and well-behaved). It was a total revelation given the noise encountered on two separate camping trips in the GB this year. There are strict noise controls at the site but they needn't have been there. People on the site acknowledged each other and in general were friendly.
The setting was also rather pleasant being at the lake-side and well shielded from the industrial areas near to the Mittellandkanal. The amenities were spotless and I certainly didn't begrudge paying 50 cents to use the showers.
The site was within easy walking distance of the city which like the site is clean and well kept. There does seem a pre-occupation with German youth and grafitti but in an odd way it seemed to belong. There was no litter and despite numerous sightings of dog, no mess.
The city plays host to what one would expect and the night life we encountered was well enjoyed. Also very reasonably priced, spent around 30% less than a night out here would cost.
However returning to the camp site all I can say is the setting is good, location perfect for what we wanted, amenities excellent and the price was absolutely spot on. One word of advice is that caravan pitches are mainly occupied by more permanent pitchers so booking may be required if you're in a van. Otherwise it was first rate.
