Scammers!
Gunnar bluffed that in a few years they had managed to have many cars. If every tourist was ripped off 1000 euros, it is normal for the company to grow so fast. Do not rent anything with this company because they will look for scams, and if you do not handle well with the language, they will make you sign a paper saying that you accept that you have hit the car, even a small scratch, being able to charge you the whole franchise (1000 Euros).

Worst choice! We got scammed.
We were charged $70000ISK($700USD) for something that the staff member claims is damage that was done by us. What he is claiming is hardly visible and it's unfair to expect anyone to notice it during the pick-up inspection. This was likely already on the car before we picked it up because we had been very careful with the car throughout our trip. This vehicle was covered in markings on pick up and we brought this to the attention of the staff member and were assured that minor markings would not be an issue.
We did not agree with this claim but he gave us no option but to pay $70000ISK or he wouldn't provide me with any documentation that proves the car was returned and the cost would go up to 108400ISK($1085USD).
Do NOT rent a car from Ace or GO Iceland car rental!!

Awful experience, we felt completley scammed.
I have to begin saying that we had no problem with the car itself. The problem came at the time of returning it. It had suffered a small dent in the driver's door. As they had to take us to the airport and we had no time to go to a repair shop we signed a bond for the value of the excess (1000 €) trusting them when they committed to send us the actual price of the repair (And to look for the cheapest option for us).
But: surprise! Once at home they sent us a budget of 1200 € for the repair. The first thing that draw our attention is that the budget shows that the car is a Volkswagen Caddy and we had rented a Dacia Dokker, but the most surprising thing is that the vehicle's license plate was the same: the document had been obviously manipulated, it was probably the budget of the repair of another car.
We visited several repair shops and they told us that this repair can not exceed 200 €, that changing the door for a new one is cheaper than those 1200€! The budget shows a total of 4 hours and 19 minutes of sheet metal work and repair and 6 hours of painting workshop to which they add among other costs, over 190 € of paint. All that for a 10 centimeters dent. In a workshop we were told that in those hours you can paint a whole side of the car.
A terrible experience, a company we do not recommend at all. Do not let this take you by surprise. Just think that any scratch you make to the car (Something normal in a place like Iceland) will cost you 1000 €. Do yourself a favor, and rent the car somewhere else. You can see the pictures below.

Me and a friend rented a Toyota Rav4 through Ace Car Rental for a week in mid-March. Ace Car Rental is a family owned business and we had a great experience with them, fr the beginning to the end. For 15€ they picked us up at the airport, drove us to their office 5 minutes away where we signed the papers and inspected the car. Great car to drive with during winter time, came with studded winter tyres. As we had reserved one night at their guesthouse Home Guesthouse we had the possibility to return the car there instead of dropping it off at their office. Can truly recommend them and would definitely rent from them again.
