SCAM BUSINESS ON ICELAND - OLD AND DANGEROUS CARS
DO NOT USE THIS SCAM BUSINESS!
The car I rented broke down and I did't get any help. I had to leave some of my camping gear in the car. Green Motion dont reply to any of my demands of compensation and won't give me back my camping gear!

First of all I reserved a Suzuki Jimny 4X4 for 6 days and they switched to a much smaller, much lower Fiat Panda 4X4. But I thought oh well smaller car, better gas mileage, I wasn't planning to go into the mountains anyways. ***IT SAVED ME THAT I TOOK A HIGH RESOLUTION VIDEO OF THE WHOLE CAR BEFORE I STARTED DRIVING IT **** Because when I returned the car, they came short of bringing a magnifying glass with them. They wanted to keep my $2500 deposit because of a scratch they said was not registered in their system. I couldn't believe it, I was in shock!!! then I took out my laptop and reviewed a video I took of all around the car and showed her that scratch was there already. I did this because I read a review about some car rentals in Iceland scamming tourists, she then wanted to save face when she sarcastically smiled and said sometimes things don't get documented. AVOID THIS PLACE OR MAKE A COMPLETE RECORDING OF THE CAR OR YOU WILL BE SCAMMED!!!!!!!!!!! This just happened to me on Oct, 21, 2017

We booked the car,wait very long time from the airport , around one hour, and no one pick up the service phone, after we meet them, they said its our fault cause we didnt show on time? this make us very piss off, the office is very far from the airport, they need drive you to the office, they cheaper than others, but they will ask you check the car with very dark lights, i suggest choose another company to keep safe

If you have a reservation, cancel it! Started out waiting ,along with many others, for over an hour for our vehicle (a large van). Van was beat up inside and out-dented, cracked windshield, missing interior panels. No walk around with an employee, just thrown a form and told to complete it ourselves - good thing we also took pictures.
A few days later on the main road to see puffins we get a flat. Such things happen, but when we looked at the tire it was totally bald on the outside. Spent half a day changing the tire and finding shop to repair or replace. Shop tells us that we should have never been sent out with the tire in that condition and that all of our tires were illegal, as they were studded and were supposed to have been removed in May.
Upon return to the rental office they try to stick us with damage claims until we tell them we have pictures to back up our claim. Then charge us $480 for the flat tire replacement, 3x - 4x the price found on line.

This is was the worst experience I've ever had. At first they lost our reservation, and this is after we sent emails over and over telling them what our situation was and we kept them posted so we could have our car in time and in the right place. There was nobody at the airport to pick us up... which wasn't that big of an issue. We got there and they said they had no record of our reservation. We payed for an off roader because we were going up to waterfalls that involved hikes and dirt roads. Then we also ordered another car for people that didn't want to go hiking and would rather have gone to the blue lagoon. We ended up with 2 small cars that were in no condition to go off-road. It was raining really hard when we got the cars so the inspection was not thorough. When we returned the cars they found a dent in one of them. They claimed that the dent was not there before. SCAM. We were in the middle of nowhere doing hikes that were away from crowds. There was NO OTHER CARS near ours. There's no way that dent was caused by us. OVERALL DO NOT USE THIS RENTAL COMPANY THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS
