Hired a Toyota Rav4 for 5 days on our trip to Iceland. Perfect experience from pick up to drop off and the friendly staff could not have been more helpful - and I should know as I needed lots of help after arriving without my driving licence! They staff helped me get in touch with the British Embassy (lent me their phone too) and gave lots of help and advice until I finally managed to get the DVLA to fax my details to a hotel we were staying at (Autocar, understandably, did not have a fax machine since this is the 21st century!) The car had a few miles on the clock but was perfectly fitted out for the worst of the weather than we encountered - studded winter tyres and a 4x4 gave me all the confidence I needed whilst zipping along on the awesome Icelandic roads (roads that run for miles and miles without a single pot hole - until the road runs out). The car was an automatic - the first time that I'd ever driven an automatic but it didn't take long to adapt. A BIG thank you to all at Auto Car!!! Enjoy your chocolate fingers and cinnamon pinwheels we left as a thank you gift for your awesomeness!!

VERY NICE PEOPLE AT OFFICE , VERY CLEAN CAR, (HYUNDAI I20. ) WE DRIVE 2300KM AROUND ICELAND. WE ALSO GET STUCK IN SNOW, THEY HELP US FOUNDING A TOW TRUCK , (IN WINTER YOU NEED A 4X4 CAR) , AT RETURN THEY DRIVE US TO OUR HOTEL, WE WILL RECOMAND THIS COMPANY TO ALL OUR FRIENDS . SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH

The car itself was fine and if the list below did not happen, I would 100% recommend this company and would rent from them again however:
1. The highly expensive damage deposit was not stated anywhere when booking the car - very surprised as we arrived and had no choice since we did not plan an alternative for getting around Iceland
2. We returned the car (and took pictures) to prove there was no damage upon return however somehow there was a scratch/dent that needed to be fixed and the cost was crazy expensive as well - the pictures they sent did not even 100% match my pictures and the car we used. We could not do anything.
BE CAREFUL WITH THE COMPANY YOU BOOK WITH!

We rented a car from this company (but in Keflavik), I lifted the car at 5 am, they was in the airport waiting for us, very friendly. In office they explained us everything about insurance, I understood that in this beautiful country we can have also damages from nature. we could buy separate insurance for sandstorm but this have selfrisk 1500 euro, so we decided to buy a full insurance, I think it was called (gold insurance). I drove all the South East to Hofn, I met a sandstorm on the way, which I realized only at return when they explained why lights were no longer clear, I have not paid anything since I had that total insurance , I think that the damage was very expensive because I think had to change front headlights and probably repainted all front of car. By the way, very good car (BMW X1) I chose 5 STARS for this company, and for all staff. Thanks guys

Do not rent from this company. We had the same experience that Diane described in her review - this company pulled a scam related to sand insurance. We stayed on the ring road the entire trip and returned th car in excellent condition. The employee claimed there was sand damage and charged us 160 000 (1600 USD), despite the fact that we had paid extra for sand insurance. We should have heeded the other Google reviews warning us.
