Kashi Vishveshwar Devalay (Temple), which is over two centuries old (built in 1783) is situated on TH Kataria Marg near Citylight Cinema at Matunga West
This temple displays a unique bearded Shiva idol. A brass-covered Shivalingam is positioned in the main sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Besides Lord Shiva, various other idols of Dieties like Ganesha, Kalbhairav, Lakshmi Narayan, Dattatreya & Hanuman are also installed alongside. A big sculpture of Lord Shiva, Parvati with Ganesha is put up at a height above the sanctum sanctorum. There is a big space for devotees to sit and pray and also to listen to various bhajans, harikatha pravachans and other programs that keep happening. Although the daily number of devotees is not very high here but festivals such as Mahashivratri, Ram Navami, Krishna Janmashtami, Navratri and Shravan month draws large number of devotees.
