This lovely little place, next to the City Zoo is a must visit for people who love painting and art. It features some great artistes including some of the famous original paintings of Raja Ravi Varma.
It will be an unforgettable visit for those who make it to this wonderful little place filled with treasures of Art.

Do not miss the Ravi Varma originals here. So worth the visit. Some of my favorite paintings are housed here. They give me the greatest inspiration. Just spend a lazy Sunday observing the tiny details that go into the realistic paintings. I could do that for hours. I was surprised to see the Milkmaid was a small painting. The Shakuntala and Hamsa Damayanti are cult favorites. A must visit for any art lover.

Difficult to locate. enter the museum and zoo complex, then go into the zoo for a seperate entrance to the Chitra Art Gallery. But once inside, art lovers would go weak in the knees. It has paintings from several Indian and foreign artists but the pick of the lot remains those by Raja Ravi Verma. Photography not allowed.

Only 5 STARS...! By all qualities, except the fact that photography not allowed?
I have traveled to many places in India and abroad...!
In many places (not all) there is an entry fee, but most places the camera (both STILL & VIDEO) are free! They want their collections to be seen by others...
Suprisingly mobile is allowed & today, many mobiles have excellent cameras, which have very low light shooting capabilities !
We are the BEST (including ROCKET TECHNOLOGY), but we need to improve TOURISM..
