Actually it is one of the best city square in Indonesia i have ever been so far. It's very lively and touristy. Just keep the place clean and well maintained.

Great place to hangout at Bandung. Just sitting, enjoying and watching the locals and listening to the prayers made good impression for me.
For travellers: there is a Tourist Information Center there where you can have a free map.

you have to take off your shoes. It's better if you bring your own plastic bag to put your shoes because there is no locker or you can buy it around mosque.

Nice place to get off your day routine. At night you can lay your back on the synthetic grass. You need to take off your shoes or slipper. But there is no locker what so ever to put your shoes. Maybe the government can provide paid locker to enjoy the Alun-alun

Surprisingly a fun, cheap way to spend time with your friends and family! When it's not the rainy season, a night time picnic is highly recommended. The synthetic grass is comfortable to lay on. Bring blankets! As it may get chillier at night. Kids can play soccer, and the adults can just lay back and relax. Unfortunately, when it gets later at night, some homeless people find it as a shelter. But, I don't think it's too big of a deal, since all the fun is worth it. Don't be surprised if people are still hanging out and playing until midnight! It's a 24hr park.
