The employees were great, and the low score is not a reflection of the service we received. Hertz as a company really nickel and dimes you. Be prepared to spend double what you are quoted, once they add on insurance (or the fee they will charge you if you DON'T buy their insurance). Also, the excess is still 2500 Euro even with insurance. It would be more pleasant if Hertz just informed you of the cost upfront rather than letting you book online for one price, as we did, and then unexpectedly add a ton of extra costs on at the counter.

As an older couple, it was our first time hiring a car so my husband and I were feeling apprehensive as we had read many horror stories of what could go wrong with car rental companies. We read online that our safest option was to go with an established and reputable company so we chose Hertz and were so glad we did. Our experiencesa at Hertz, lower Glanmire Road Cork city couldn't have been more positive. The whole booking process was effortless, everything was explained with fantastic customer service and no hidden charges. Thank you so much to the brilliant staff, we won't hesitate to return :-) ..
