On 27th of September 2017 I got a taxi exactly out of the airport after waiting in the relevant line at around 23.30. My destination was Russel Court Hotel in Dublin. The taxi driver - who had a very heavy irish accent - asked me if I was coming to Dublin for the first time and I replied ''yes" asit was actually my first time. During our route I noticed that a red number 2 was on at the taximeter. After some time we arrived at a toll station where he paid by cash. When we reached the hotel the taximeter wrote 31 euro. He touched the screen and suddenly it wrote 39. I gave him 50 euro and then he wrote in a simple receipt 40 and gave it to me with 10 euro change. Next day I asked the hotel and they told me that the normal price for this route had to be 25 euro. Also they told me that there are no tolls from the airport to the hotel and that there was no excuse for using the tariff 2 at 23.30. Having all these in mind I concluded that the irish taxi driver took advantage of the fact that I was coming to Dublin for the first time and charged me 15 euro more! This was my first impression of Ireland and it was negative due to the taxi driver! You can find below the... official receipt he gave to me. I hope you can locate him.

I got a taxi friom Wexford Street to Rathgar last night. It was about 2am but I had actually been working in Belfast and travelled back down. Therefore although I had a few drinks I was not drunk. I left my laptop in the taxi with all my work information and things I need badly on it. By law the driver is supposed to hand it into the Gardai. He hasn't. He didn't give me a receipt, which I didn't ask for but which he is obliged to do by law also. He is basically keeping my laptop. total thieving scumbag.
