Picked up my rentalcar on the 9th of september. Our plane was delayed so I couldn't pick up the car until around 00.30 am. The guy working there was really helpful and stayed open until I arrived. Later on, when I couldn't find my way back to the airport to pick up my wife (GPS on my phone wasn't working and it was in the middle of the night) the guy working at Goldcar offered to guide me back to the Airport after his shift had ended! Amazing service and such a nice thing to do! Thank you:)

I got a very bad experience from Rome FCO airport. I was attended by Daniele. He told me that I better buy extra car insurance but I insisted that I already have a full coverage insurance and show him the contract between me and our agent. Then he took our card and credit 129Euro for another full cover insurance which I thought it was a deposit.
Once I found out the credit amount is not a deposit, and asked my agent call them immediately to cancel my policy. But goldcar asked me to drive back to Rome to do the cancellation (but I'm already in Florence), and they didn't think this is non sense for a customer run back to my starting point because their fault. And I asked and asked if I could do cancellation in Florence but they insisted not.
Now I feel really frustrated and a feeling of being robbed.

If possible I would give a negative amount of stars. You book on the Internet, with a fixed price, but you will not be able to get the car unless you pay something extra. If you refuse to do this they will charge your credit card EUR 2.200- as a deposit and gingerly inform you that it can take up to 3 months before that charge is reversed...
Avoid these crooks if at all possible!!! You pay extra for a diesel car, you pay extra (EUR 9 per day) for one more driver on the contract etc etc etc.

After reserved my car for 3 days, I was looking to extend for 1 day more and I was told that I couldn't because they have only 1 car with 7 seats available.
On top of it when I told the lady with blue eyes and blond hair what would happen if I was going to return the car one day after , she told me that a penalty would apply around 70 euros.... I was fine with it how ever the manager that was listening to our conversation, a very very rude person told me that he was not going to give me the car and also if I was not returning the car in time he would charge me lots lots of money just for the sake of scaring the costumers.
Also I booked my car through the bank online system using my Barclays premier card, and I was able to collect the car only if I had a credit card. Fortunately I am Italian and my father was there so I was able to use his credit card but if I was travelling as a tourist they would ruin my entire vacation.
I would not recommend goldcar to any of the people I know, I would also rate it on Trip Advisor for the poor costumer service and lack of sensibility by the untrained staff working for the company.
